Ginger Turmeric Bar
Ginger Turmeric Bar
Spiced, not sweet.
Ginger twice over, on Madaba olive oil.
Ginger goes in twice — the extract and the oil — with turmeric for the colour and sweet orange across the top. Warm and dry rather than sugary. This is not a candle.
Geranium and ylang ylang sit underneath to round it out, frankincense at the very bottom. Built on olive oil pressed in Madaba, Jordan. Dense, slow lather. Leaves skin feeling soft and lightly scented.
Made in small batches, cut by hand, cured for four weeks. Vegan, palm-oil-free, cruelty-free. 95g.

Aroma: Ginger, turmeric, sweet orange — warm, dry, lightly spiced
Character: Golden. A cold-morning bar.
Hero botanicals: Ginger (extract and oil), turmeric, sweet orange, frankincense
Origin: Olive oil pressed in Madaba, Jordan
Weight: approx. 95g
Madaba olive oil — The base of the bar, pressed in Madaba. Makes a mild, conditioning soap with a low, dense lather.
Ginger extract and ginger oil — The hero, used twice. The extract in the water phase, the oil at trace. Two forms of the same root doing different work.
Turmeric extract — Where the colour comes from, and a dry earthiness underneath the ginger.
Sweet orange oil — Lifts the top. Keeps the spice from sitting heavy.
Geranium oil — Green and floral. Rounds the sharp edge off the ginger.
Ylang ylang oil — Creamy warmth in the middle.
Frankincense oil — Resinous Levantine backbone. The through-line across all KON bars.
Shea butter & sweet almond oil — Richness. Why the bar feels cushioned rather than squeaky.
Castor oil — Lather. A small amount does a lot.
Kaolin clay — Silkiness and slip on the skin.
Mica — Mineral colour. That's the whole colour story — nothing else.
Made only with plant oils, botanical extracts, and mineral color.

Wet the bar and work it between your palms for a few seconds — olive oil soap lathers low and slow, so give it a moment before it blooms. Then across the body, or over the hands at the sink.
The ginger comes forward in hot water and the orange lifts with it. This is the one for a cold morning, when the Matcha Bar feels like too much of a shock.
Keeping it: stand it on a draining dish where air can get underneath. An olive oil bar that dries out between washes will last weeks longer than one sitting in a puddle.
Is it going to smell like a spiced candle?
No. Sweet orange, geranium and ylang ylang sit alongside the ginger, which keeps it dry and warm rather than sugary. There's no cinnamon, no vanilla, no clove. It's scented with botanical oils, not fragrance oil.
Will the turmeric stain anything?
The amount in a bar of soap is small, and it's turmeric extract rather than raw ground root. We haven't had it mark skin or cloths. A pale soap dish is still worth rinsing now and then.
What does "twice over" mean?
The formula uses both ginger extract and ginger oil. They go in at different stages and behave differently — the extract in the water phase, the oil later. Most ginger soap uses one or the other.
How long does a bar last?
It depends almost entirely on whether you let it dry out between uses. On a draining dish with air underneath, a bar lasts considerably longer than one sitting in water. That single habit makes more difference than anything else.
Why olive oil?
It's the tradition this soap comes from, and it makes a milder, denser bar than the palm and tallow blends most bar soap is built on. It also lathers lower — that's the trade, and we think it's the right one.
Can I use it on my face?
It's a body and hand bar. That said — I've used it on my face daily for months. Everyone's skin is different, so patch test first. — Rudi, founder
Where does it ship from?
Made in Jordan, shipped from California.
The King's Highway
Madaba sits on the old King’s Highway, the road that carried spices north out of Arabia for thousands of years before anyone drew a border across it. Ginger and turmeric traveled that road for centuries.
The olive oil in this bar is pressed beside it.
