Damask Rose Bar
Damask Rose Bar
Nothing like the rose you're expecting.
Rose and olive, both from Madaba.
The olive oil is pressed in Madaba, Jordan. The Damask rose is grown there too — different ground, same town, an hour south of Amman. Most rose soap can't tell you what country either ingredient came from.
Geranium keeps the rose green and true; ylang ylang and vanilla give it warmth underneath. Dense, slow lather. Leaves skin feeling soft and lightly scented.
Made in small batches, cut by hand, cured for four weeks. Vegan, palm-oil-free, cruelty-free. 95g.

Madaba olive oil — The base of the bar, pressed in Madaba. Makes a mild, conditioning soap with a low, dense lather.
Damask rose extract — The hero. Grown in Madaba too, on different ground. The flower this bar is built around.
Geranium oil — Green and rosy. Keeps the scent bright and stops it going powdery.
Ylang ylang oil — Creamy floral warmth in the middle.
Vanilla extract — Softens the close.
Frankincense oil — Resinous Levantine backbone. The through-line across all three KON bars.
Shea butter & sweet almond oil — Richness. Why the bar feels cushioned rather than squeaky.
Castor oil — Lather. A small amount does a lot.
Kaolin clay — Silkiness and slip on the skin.
Mica — Mineral color. That's the whole color story — nothing else.
Made only with plant oils, botanical extracts, and mineral color.

Wet the bar and work it between your palms for a few seconds — olive oil soap lathers low and slow, so give it a moment before it blooms. Then across the body, or over the hands at the sink.
Rose is a bar people split into two camps: some want it first thing, some want it last thing. Try it in the evening first. The vanilla and ylang ylang come forward more in warm water.
Keeping it: stand it on a draining dish where air can get underneath. An olive oil bar that dries out between washes will last weeks longer than one sitting in a puddle. This is the single thing that most affects how long the bar lasts.
Is this going to smell like perfume-counter rose?
No. Geranium and ylang ylang sit alongside the rose, which pulls it warm and green rather than sweet and powdery. It's scented with botanical oils, not fragrance oil.
What does "single-origin" mean here?
That the two ingredients this bar is built around — the olive oil and the Damask rose — both come from Madaba, Jordan. The rest of the formula (shea, coconut, almond, castor) is sourced conventionally.
How long does a bar last?
It depends almost entirely on whether you let it dry out between uses. On a draining dish with air underneath, a bar lasts considerably longer than one sitting in water. That single habit makes more difference than anything else.
Why olive oil?
It's the tradition this soap comes from, and it makes a milder, denser bar than the palm and tallow blends most bar soap is built on. It also lathers lower — that's the trade, and we think it's the right one.
Can I use it on my face?
It's a body and hand bar. That said — I've used it on my face daily for months. Everyone's skin is different, so patch test first.
Where does it ship from?
Made in Jordan, shipped from California.
Both from Madaba
Madaba is a town an hour south of Amman, known since the sixth century for its mosaics — floors laid from millions of hand-cut stones. The olive oil in this bar is pressed there. So is the Damask rose.
The mosaic on our packaging comes from the same place.
